Lyk Waveband

The Lyk Waveband launched earlier this year as brits become more open to exploring new methods of spending; one quarter (26%) expect to soon start using a smart watch, bracelet, keyring, or other forms of wearable payment devices.¹

Developed by Thomas Cook Money, Thomas Cook’s financial services division, in cooperation with Mastercard® Prepaid Management Services, the colourful and lightweight Lyk Waveband™ links directly to a Lyk Prepaid Mastercard card and is worn on the wrist. Payments are made simply by waving the band over a contactless terminal². All payments are tracked through a Lyk app and the splash-proof nature of the Waveband™ makes it holiday-friendly.

James Done, Travel Money Director for Thomas Cook Money said: “The new choice of payment options available to holidaymakers is hugely exciting, because travellers can pay in the way that suits them best. We see wearables as a big trend for holiday spending, because of the surge in contactless payments and the convenience of paying this way. By 2030, we expect 90% of holidaymakers to own a holiday wearable – giving complete freedom to go wallet-free, leaving the hotel room with the just the device, a towel and sun cream!”

You can buy the Lyk Waveband online for just £7.99, when buying a Lyk Prepaid Mastercard. Get yours at lykcard.com/waveband.
